Die Brucke

Die Brücke(The Bridge) was based by group of expressionist artists in Dresden in 1905.It was named after the Brücke museum in Berlin.Founding members of the group are Fritz Bleyl,Erich Heckel,Earnst Ludwig Kirchner and Karl Schmidt Rottluff.Later Emil Nolde, Max Pechstein and Otto Mueller joined in the group.Die Brücke aimed to express extreme emotions with exaggerated colours as fauvism thus it was frequently compared to the Fauves.Both movement's drawing techique was crude.
